What Reno Apex Fence is

Reno Apex Fence is an independent referral service that connects Reno-area homeowners with local, independently owned fence contractors. We do not perform fencing or gate work ourselves — always verify a contractor's license and insurance before hiring. We built this site to answer the questions a Reno-area homeowner actually has before calling anyone — what a fence or gate should cost, what Washoe County allows, how to tell a licensed contractor from an unlicensed one, and which local companies do what — and then, if you want one, to connect you with an independent local contractor. Every cost figure, code citation, and licensing rule on this site is dated and sourced; the how it works page explains the referral process itself in more detail.

What we are not

We do not install, repair, or replace fences. No one on our team sets posts or hangs panels, and nothing on this site should read as if we do — a distinction Nevada law (NRS 624.720) makes for us, not just a courtesy. We are not a review site and don't publish star ratings, review counts, or "licensed and insured" claims we haven't personally verified. We are not affiliated with the Nevada State Contractors Board, Washoe County, the City of Reno, or the City of Sparks — we cite their public pages and handouts, but we're an independent publisher, not a government source.

Who researches and maintains this site

Reno Apex Fence is maintained by a small research and editorial team focused on Northern Nevada home-services information. We read the primary source ourselves — a county PDF, a state statute, a contractor's own published rate sheet — before publishing a number or a rule, and we log where every claim on this site came from and when we last checked it (see the sources note at the bottom of every cost guide and rules page). When two official sources disagree, as they currently do on Washoe County's fence permit-exemption threshold, we say so plainly rather than picking one and hoping it's right — see the permit guide for that specific example.

Our research methodology

• Primary sources first. County and state government pages, published statutes (NRS/NAC), and a contractor's own site or rate sheet outrank a blog post or an aggregator every time we can find one.

• National data, labeled as national. Where no Reno-specific cost data exists, we use national contractor-estimate data (HomeGuide, Angi) and say clearly that it's national — we never present a national number as a Reno number.

• One number, everywhere. Every dollar figure on this site comes from a single internal price sheet, so the same repair cost can't quietly disagree with itself between two pages.

• Dated and rechecked. Every page shows when it was last reviewed. Prices, codes, and legal claims get rechecked before each republish, because all three change.

• No invented facts. Where a fact can't be verified — a fee schedule, a permit-exemption height, a company's insurance status — we say we don't know rather than guess, and we tell you who to call to get the real answer.
